Project REHAB Participates in the 4th Philippine Symposium on Freshwater Biodiversity and Ecosystems

Nov 16, 2024

Project REHAB participated in the 4th Philippine Symposium on Freshwater Biodiversity and Ecosystems, held in conjunction with the 5th International Conference on Tropical Limnology and the 3rd General Assembly Meeting of the Philippine Society for Freshwater Science, from November 13–15, 2024 at Silliman University, Dumaguete City, Philippines.

With the theme “Balancing Act: Safeguarding Tropical Inland Waters Amidst Threats to Sustainable Development,” the conference brought together researchers to discuss current challenges and advances in freshwater biodiversity and ecosystem management in tropical regions.

During the conference, three Project REHAB research assistants presented their research findings. Edrine Durante and Hans Deither Tolabing delivered poster presentations, while Britney Ann Yu presented an oral presentation, showcasing Project REHAB’s research contributions to freshwater science. These presentations facilitated engagement with fellow researchers in the field.

The participation of Project REHAB in this symposium provided an important opportunity to share ongoing research and to engage with other scientists working on freshwater systems in the Philippines and the broader tropical region. The exchanges during the poster and oral presentation sessions contributed important perspectives that will inform future research directions and strengthen Project REHAB’s work on freshwater biodiversity and ecosystem studies.
